The open architecture kitchen/dining/living area, coupled with the two story cathedral ceilings, gives the main level a bright, airy great-room feel and makes it easy to entertain large groups or relax in front of the field stone fireplace.The sophisticated contemporary residence is ideally positioned on a south-facing hillside near the orchard giving immediate access to the trail network on which exploration adventure awaits. The outdoor destination of choice, however, is always the 3.5 acre spring-fed lake that, with its nearby pavilion for outdoor cooking and eating, allows everyone to spend the day in, on or next to your own private water playground.

Summary: This was easily the best property I've stayed in around the Green Mountains and the Upper Valley. The house was exceptionally well designed, with comfortable and private rooms, great gathering spaces, and a highly functional kitchen. The architecture is also perfect for the setting, with lots of warm wood, tall ceilings, and vistas over the property to the mountains. You could tell that the hosts care deeply about their guests' experience, with thoughtful notes on the the area, the house, and the wildlife. I would jump at the chance to stay here again.
